USD 9000 found from air passenger

Officials of the city airport today found USD 9000 and Rs two lakh from the suitcase of a passenger bound for Bangkok.
A passenger can carry a maximum of USD 5000 or its equivalent in any currency, airport officials said.
During routine check, the money was found kept in a yellow packet which was hidden inside a tube in the suitcase of the passenger.
However, he could not be arrested as the amount was not enough to book him as per rule.
The excess amount was seized and the passenger was freed, the officials said.
