Former ICAI president Uttam Prakash Agarwal has joined NBFC-P2P lending major PaisaDukan as independent director.
Agarwal has accepted to join the company as an independent director, PaisaDukan said in a statement Monday.
PaisaDukan was the first new entrants to receive the Certificate of Registration from Reserve Bank of India in May 2018 to operate as NBFC-P2P company, it said.
Agarwal was elected as one of the youngest presidents of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for 2009-10, the company said.
He had played a key role in resolving and bringing auditors, who were involved in the 'Satyam scam', to task.
Commenting on Agarwal's appointment, PaisaDukan founder and CMD Rajiv Ranjan said with his joining, the company now boasts of having the strongest board with cumulative experience of more than 200 years.
