Inaugurating the project in Kotdwar town of Pauri, Rawat said it would boost tourism and generate self-employment opportunities for the local youth.
"Kotdwar is known as the gateway to Garhwal, the launch of state government-run projects like this will also open its doors to development," he added.
The Ecotourism Development Corporation of Uttarakhand is charged with developing ecotourism circuits in Utttarakhand.
Its main aim is to promote ecologically and culturally sustainable tourism, while also augmenting tourism-generated livelihood opportunities for local communities.
State Forest and Environment Minister Harak Singh Rawat said inauguration of the scheme will give a new identity to Kotdwar.
