"A country where common man has to spend Rs 1.5 crore for admission in medical college, cannot be the country of Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi," Qureshi said, speaking at a programme here last evening.
He said one of his relatives had to sell off his entire property for admission for PG course in medical college, but still he fell short of the money required.
The Muslim community would stand united against the terrorism, he said.
Local MP and Congress secretary Meenakshi Natrajan was also present on this occasion.
