The police today foiled an attempt by members of a local outfit to stop the screening of Vishal Bharadwaj-directed film 'Haider' at a multiplex on Gotri road here.
Joint police commissioner D J Patel said that protesters ran away when police reached the multiplex.
The protesters alleged that some dialogues in the film were supportive of the terrorists, and burnt posters of the film before the police's arrival while asking the multiplex management to stop the screening.
The flim, a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare's 'Hamlet', is set in the insurgency-hit Kashmir of the 1990s.
