"The great Modi wave across the nation has given the BJP absolute majority and the NDA a startling, magnificent victory," he said in a statement here.
"I extend my greeting and congratulate Narendra Modi," Vaiko, whose party contested seven seats as a part of the BJP-led six party alliance in the state and set to draw a blank, said.
Conceding defeat, Vaiko, who himself was trailing in Virudhunagar constituency said, "Accepting people's verdict is democracy...We will continue to work for the people."
Vaiko, a strong votary of Sri Lankan Tamils' cause, is trailing behind the ruling AIADMK candidate Radhakrishnan T, securing 1,20,637 votes so far compared to 1,83,459 votes by the nearest rival.
