Vaishno Devi pilgrim dies after being hit by rock

A Vaishno Devi pilgrim died today after being hit by a rock that slided from Trikuta hill top near the cave shrine, a police officer said.
The deceased has been identified as Sampat (59), a resident of Hyderabad, he said.
The pilgrim was on his way to Bhairo Mandir after paying obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum of the cave shrine when he was hit by the rock that came down from the hill top, the officer said.
He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, he said.
