VE Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture firm between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, today reported 28.1 per cent increase in sales in April this year to 3,959 units.
It had sold 3,089 units in April 2017, VECV said in a statement.
Eicher branded trucks and buses posted total sales of 3,939 units last month as against 3,077 units in the same month last year, up 28 per cent, it said.
In the domestic market, the Eicher branded CVs posted sales of 3,389 units last month as compared to 2,578 units a year ago, a growth of 31.5 per cent, the company added.
Exports of Eicher brand of trucks and buses were at 550 units last month as against 499 units in the April last year, up 10.2 per cent.
VECV further said Volvo trucks clocked 20 units in April 2018 as compared to 12 units in April 2017, a growth of 66.7 per cent.
