VFI President terminated in EGM

The Emergent General Body meeting and the Executive committee meeting convened by Volleyball Federation of India Secretary General Ramavatar Singh Jakhar today decided to terminate Chaudhary Avdhesh Kumar as VFI President.
Jakhar alleged that Kumar had displayed "arrogant behaviour" in suspending 10 members and senior officer bearers" of VFI.
"Today we had a crucial meeting and the entire house attended by 22 of the 29 affiliated Units of the VFI unanimously decided to terminate the President as he is acting arrogantly and he is not a normal man but behaving like a Hitler," he said.
Jakhar said, "Members considered his actions as unilateral, uncalled for and illegal in suspending the Core Committee appointed by the EC and freezing of VFI bank account in Chennai. His actions have proved that he is bigger than the VFI and the General body. The meeting condemned his actions in one voice."

Jakhar said the meeting passed a unanimous resolution to terminate Avadhesh Kumar as President of the VFI and this decision will be firmed up at the Special General Body and extraordinary meeting already convened to be held at Chennai on March 11.
The internal war between the two factions of the Federation over the proposed Indian Volleyball League (IVL) resulted in Avdhesh Kumar suspending 10 members of the VFI for attending an "invalid" core committee meeting on February 22 in New Delhi.

Kumar had suspended VFI CEO K Murugan, executive vice- president Raj Kumar and treasurer Ranjit Roy Chaudhary, along with seven other state unit affiliate members who attended the meeting called by executive vice-president Raj Kumar. He had also declared all decisions taken on Feb 22 meeting as null and void.

Meanwhile, Jakhar, who had termed the suspension by the President as "illegal and unethical" had then said he would get those decisions overturned at today's meeting.
The Secretary also announced that the "IVL will be held definitely in November and December this year jointly by the Core committee of the VFI and the Company".
"Today's meeting also cancelled the authorisation extended by Kumar to another Company to sponsor IVL without EC's decision. Instead, the EC today perused the four offers received from different sponsors and decided to extend the sponsorship rights to a Delhi-based sports marketing company Baseline.
