Vidarbha simmers under severe heat wave

The Vidarbha region of Maharashtra is reeling under intense heat wave conditions with the maximum temperature in the major towns rising above 40 degrees Celsius, with Wardha topping the chart with 47.5 degrees Celsius today.
Meanwhile, Nagpur, the second capital of the Maharashtra, recorded maximum temperature of 46.9 degrees Celsius.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre here, the maximum temperature in other major towns in the region were as follows: Chandrapur 46.8, Akola 46.4, Bramhapuri 45.8, Amravati 45.6, Yavatmal 45.6 and Washim 44 degrees Celsius.
