A video of Samajwadi Party MLA Jagatram Paswan allegedly behaving indecently with dancers has gone viral, triggering a sharp reaction from opposition parties.
The video, which is also being aired on some local channels, shows the MLA allegedly showering currency notes on dancers at a wedding function and indulging in indecent actions.
As the video went viral, the opposition parties were quick to slam the SP.
BJP state general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said while the top leadership of Samajwadi Party is busy dealing with infighting, its elected representatives are "showering notes on bar dancers and having fun".
State unit spokesman of Congress Arun Prakash Singh said SP is the party of "goonda and mafia elements. This is the real character of the party which has come before the people through the video".
State President of Peace Party Abdul Mannan said ever since the SP has come to power, its elected representatives have been indulging in such activities. "It is goondaraj and not 'samajwad' in SP rule", he said.
The district president of Samajwadi Party, Omkar Nath Patel, said an inquiry will be conducted into the matter and if proved, the party will take strict action.
