Uttar Pradesh government has given its nod to the vigilance department to lodge a case against former BSP minister Ramendra Singh alias Badshah Singh, his wife and two others under anti-corruption Act.
The government as per the recommendations of the vigilance department has granted permission to file a case against former UP labour minister Badshah Singh, his wife Ratna, manager of their college Rajendra Pratap Singh and member Rituraj Singh, a home department spokesman said.
The government has also given permission to realise Rs 25.5 lakh along with interest from Singh and the college management as recommended by the vigilance department.
Badshah had allegedly misused his position and constructed a college in Kherala in his father's name on a piece of land reserved for agriculture purpose with money from MP and MLA development funds. The Lokayukta had recommended a vigilance inquiry into the matter.
