Vijaywada, Kochi freight rates fall on tight cargo movements

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section to Kochi and Vijaywada eased by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following restricted cargo movements amidst excess position of trucks.
Transporters said besides ample position of trucks, restricted cargo movements, mainly pulled down freight rates for select southern destinations.
Delhi to Vijaywada and Kochi rates slipped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 61,000 and Rs 73,000.
Freight rates to Chennai also moved down by Rs 500 to Rs 65,000.
