A leopard entered Hanspurkhatta village yesterday morning and attacked five persons including four of a family, DFO Madhukar Dhakate said.
However, as villagers gathered at the spot after hearing the commotion, the big cat escaped into the forest.
The villagers then informed forest officials after administering first aid to the injured persons.
A team was rushed to the spot to lay a trap for the big cat, the DFO said.
At about three in the afternoon, the leopard revisited the village and attacked another person, a van Gujjar.
