Vizag naval base to celebrate platinum jubilee tomorrow

INS Circars, the first Naval establishment in Visakhapatnam, will be celebrating its platinum jubilee tomorrow.
A small naval base was commissioned at Vizag on December 12, 1939, by the British government.
According to an official release by the Navy, the base was formally established as HMIS Circars on April 12, 1942.
The name Circars, which means 'His Highness', referred to the Nizam of Hyderabad, the erstwhile ruler.
