Voter summary revision process to begin in Thane

The Thane Election office here announced to undertake the process of special summary revision of voters' lists in all the 18 assembly segments of the district with January 1, 2015 as the cut off date beginning from December 10, 2014.
Currently, the district has a total of 59.90 lakh voters, of which 1.74 per cent accounts for people above age of 80 years, an official release said yesterday.
Of the total 59.90 lakh, 32.91 lakh voters are male and 26.99 female. As many as 132 voters belonged to others category, it said.
Maximum voters in the district were in Airoli assembly area which accounted for 408049 voters, while 30-39 age group accounted for the highest number of voters which is 27.58 per cent, the release added.

The number of voters between the age group 70-79 is 235596 and those above 80 is 104496 it was stated.
