Wakf Board employee nabbed for taking bribe

State Vigilance Bureau sleuths today arrested a Haryana Wakf Board (HWB) employee while allegedly accepting Rs 1.3 lakh illegal bribe at his Naraingarh office.
Clerk, Yaseen Khan had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 4.4 lakh from a doctor from Ambala Cantonement who wanted to transfer the HWB land in his wife's name.
SVB sources said that Dr Prem Sharma had complained to Vigilance Bureau that Khan, a rent collector, had demanded Rs 4.4 lakhs as bribe for transferring the piece of land in the name of his wife Dr Jyoti Kiran Sharma.
The sources said that in his complaint, Sharma had alleged that he had paid two installments of Rs 50,000 each to the accused and that the third was to be paid today.

They said that the bureau constituted a raiding team headed by inspector Rajinder Sharma, which laid the trap and arrested the clerk in the presence of duty magistrate Nasib Singh.
The accused was booked under Prevention of Corruption Act and would be produced before a court here tomorrow.
