Wall Street opens lower as Trump stokes fresh trade fears
AFP Washington Wall Street started the week lower today, with the benchmark Dow Jones Industrial Average falling for the fifth straight day as President Donald Trump ratcheted up fears of a trade war.
The Dow was down 0.5 per cent at the open, falling more than 100 points from Friday's close to 24,424.07.
The broader S&P 500 was likewise down 0.5 per cent at 2,678.48 while the Nasdaq gave up 0.4 percent to 7,232.55.
