Warehouses directed to keep premises clean

Excise department has directed owners of bonded warehouses and liquor shops to ensure that no broken or damaged liquor bottles are scattered in their premises, keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of clean India.
The department today issued a circular in this regard setting up some guidelines for bonded warehouses and liquor shops in the national capital.
"The area excise inspector posted at bonded ware houses (BWH) licensee will personally ensure that the BWH and its surroundings are neat and clean.
"The record of BWH and cases of liquor are stacked properly. Besides, no broken or damaged liquor bottles are scattered. The inspector will submit a weekly report to IMFL branch on every Monday along with photographs of BWH," said a senior official of excise department.
The official also said that the retail vend licencee will also ensure that their vends are kept in a very orderly manner.
"They will also ensure that no empty corrugated boxes are scattered on the floor and no paan tabacco stains on walls of the shop. Liquor bottles should be regularly dusted. A team of the department will also keep a watch on cleanliness in and around the shop," he also said.
According to the department, a special drive will also be launched for intensive cleaning of rooms, equipments, office, furniture, doors, window and toilets.
"Besides, we are taking several step to keep premises of the department clean," he further added.
