Warm weather prevails in north

Several parts of north India experienced warm weather today with mercury hovering around normal at many places.
In Delhi, both breezy and sultry conditions prevailed.
While early in the day, weather was pleasant and breezy with minimum temperature recording 24.2 degrees Celsius, later it turned warm with the maximum settling a notch above normal at 35.8 degrees Celsius, according to the Met department.
The humidity levels oscillated between 37 and 84 per cent during the day.
Maximum temperatures in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today hovered around normal limits even as certain areas in the twin agrarian states recorded mercury settling at one notch below normal level in the region.
The day temperatures in most parts of Punjab and Haryana hovered between one degree Celsius above normal to one notch below normal limit, the MeT office said here.
Hisar continued to be the hottest place in the region with a high of 37 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.
While Chandigarh's maximum recorded 33.5 degrees Celsius, the maximum at Amritsar and Patiala registered an identical 33.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal.
In Ambala, mercury hit a high of 33.1 degrees Celsius followed by Ludhiana 32.9 and Karnal 32.4 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal.
Dry weather prevailed in most parts of Rajasthan with Ganganagar being the hottest at 37.3 degree Celsius followed by Churu 36.5, Pilani 36.1, Jaisalmer 36 and Jaipur 35.7 degree Celsius.
A Met official said the southwest monsoon would officially depart from the state in the next 2-3 days.
