Was there any landfill site fire last year? Rai asks probe

Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai today asked a four-member committee probing the recent fire at Ghazipur and Bhalswa landfill sites to find out if such incidents had also taken place between April 15 and 30 last year.
"The four-member committee, which is investigating the recent fire incidents at Bhalswa and Gazipur landfill sites, was today asked to find out if such incidents had also taken place during April 15-30 last year," said a senior government official.
While announcing the formation of the committee last week, Rai had alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to sabotage the odd-even car rationing scheme. The panel had been asked to submit its findings within three days.

"This committee will probe if someone is behind this fire at the landfill sites or it takes place usually every year," Rai had also said.
