Water release stopped from Lower Bhavani dam

Water release from Lower Bhavani Reservoir to the Lower Bhavani Project First Turn ayacut lands has been stopped from last night after 105 days of supply.
Public Works Department officials said after 105 days of water supply, the discharge had been stopped.
Agricultural department officials said more than one lakh acres of land in the district and part of Karur district benefited by the water release.
Meanwhile, farmers demanded release of water immediately for the second turn cultivation of dry crops in the ayacut.
