WB govt should stop spreading lies about water release: Cong

Congress today alleged that the West Bengal government was lying by stating DVC had released water without prior intimation and accused it of taking a partial attitude in distribution of relief to flood victims.
"Today I had a conversation with the DVC chairman, he told me DVC had informed the state government about the release of water. They have repeatedly intimated the state government about it," said state PCC president Pradip Bhattacharjee.
"The state government didn't take any necessary steps to tackle the situation and that the floods don't affect the people," he said.
Bhattacharjee alleged, the Trinamool Congress-led state government had taken a partial attitude in distribution of relief to flood victims and said, "Relief materials are being given by seeing party colour."

Talking about the proposed Kolkata Metro fare hike, he said "Trinamool is protesting against the hike, but have they ever protested hike of electricity tariffs? I would be happy if the fares are not raised, but fares are being increased only because the Trinamool had destroyed the Railways during its tenure.
