West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday gave assent to the Bengal Legislative Assembly(Members' Emoluments) Bill, 2019 which enables members of the House to get additional Rs 1000 as daily allowances.
The daily allowances of the members of the state assembly will be enhanced from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per diem following the gubernatorial nod, Raj Bhavan sources said.
"Jagdeep Dhankhar has given assent to the Bengal Legislative Assembly (Members' Emoluments) Bill, 2019 today. As a result, the daily allowance of the members of the House will be enhanced from Rs 1,000 per diem to Rs 2,000 per diem," the source said.
The Bill was passed by the House on July 11 this year.
