Wendt India Q2 net remains flat

Wendt India, a Murugappa Group firm, today said its net profit almost remained flat at Rs 3.21 crore for the second quarter ending September 30,2015.
The company had registered net profit of Rs 3.54 crore during the corresponding period of last year, Wendt India said in a statement.
Total income from operations for the three month period ending September 30, 2015, rose to Rs 35.60 crore, from Rs 32.56 crore registered during same period of last year.
The dip in consolidated net profit for the second quarter ending September 30, 2015 was due to product mix attributed to the growth in machines and components business vis-a-vis super-abrasives and lower other income, Wendt India said in a statement.

New hotel to cater to business & medical travellers

Coimbatore: Targetting business and medical travellers from different parts of the world, Vijay Group of Hotels has opened a 70-room hotel in the city.
"With 54 business class rooms for executives, six studio rooms for managerial people and 10 suites or club rooms for directors, the group has invested Rs 10 crore in Vijay Elanza," group Managing Partners N Shivakumar said.
The hotel has all the facilities to get four-star rating and the occupancy is expected from daily domestic travellers for business purposes, he told reporters here last night.

NTPC installs solar thermal cooking system in UP * Taking an initiative to promote clean energy, State-run NTPC installed solar thermal cooking system for the first time at its power plant at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh.

NTPC Chairman and MD A K Jha inaugurated the system on Wednesday. It is a joint initiative of NTPC Dadri and NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA) at the Main Plant Canteen of the Station, a press statement said.
Quick start-up, thermal energy storage, no chemicals required as steam generation is not involved and all weather cooking solution are unique features of the system, it added.
