Western Naval Command holds 'Exercise Prasthan'

A bi-annual offshore security exercise called 'Exercise Prasthan' was conducted today by Western Naval Command on an oil platform in Panna Offshore Oilfield, around 100 km south-west of Mumbai.
Mock drills to address various contingencies, such as asymmetric threat (terrorist action), oil spill, casualty evacuation and fire was conducted on this oil platform, an official release said.
Besides the Indian Navy, other major stakeholders that participated in this exercise included Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard.
