The aim of the conference is to address issues related to labour welfare and reforms.
Gujarat Labour and Employment minister Vijay Rupani told reporters that the day-long conference will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.
The western region comprises of five states, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Goa.
"Dattatreya along with labour ministers of these five states, will remain present at the conference" he said.
"Our deliberations will revolve around various aspects, such as steps to be taken for strict implementation of labour laws, issues affecting unorganised labourers, implementation of ILO guidelines and formation of new labour law. The outcome of this meet will be sent to a central committee for further action" he added.
