A day after the national capital was lashed by rains and strong winds, temperature continued to hover below 40 degree Celsius although bright sunshine made life little tough for Delhiites in the afternoon.
According to the MeT department, the day temperature settled at 38.5 degree Celsius, which was one point below normal and yesterday's 39.5 degree Celsius as well.
The minimum settled at a comfortable 21.4 degree Celsius, four notches below normal. Unseasonal rains and thunderstorm last evening were the main cause of temperature coming down in the city.
Yesterday, 4.8 mm rain was recorded between 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM while high velocity winds with a speed of 100 kmph were also witnessed in some parts of the national capital.
At 8:30 AM, rain gauges measured a total rain of 5.6 mm during the past 24 hours. Humidity was measured between 22 to 83 per cent.
Weatherman has predicted similar weather conditions tomorrow, as partly cloudy sky and thundery condition are expected in some areas.
The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 38 deg C while the minimum may settle around 21 deg C.
