Wheat, basmati rice gain on scattered buying

Wheat and basmati rice prices rose up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on scattered buying by flour mills and stockists.
However, bajra eased on reduced industrial offtake.
Traders said scattered buying from flour mills and stockists led to the rise in wheat and basmati rice prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) moved up by Rs 5 to Rs 1,610-1,615 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and edged higher by the same margin to Rs 1,615-1,620 per 90 kg.
In the rice section, Pusa 1121 variety also rose by Rs 100 to Rs 6,400-7,100 per quintal.
On the other hand, bajra eased to Rs 1,100-1,105 against last close of Rs 1,125-1,130 per quintal.

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 7,500-8,000, Rice Pusa (1121) 6,400-7,100, Permal raw 2,100-2,150, Permal wand 2,250-2,300, Sela 2,650-2,700 and Rice IR-8 1,925-1,975,Bajra 1,100-1,105, Jowar yellow 1300-1,375, white 2,300-2,450, Maize 1,280-1,285, Barley 1,520-1,525.
