Wheat climbs on tight supply

Wheat prices firmed up by Rs 35 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today owing to increased demand from flour mills against fall in arrivals from producing region.
However, bajra eased on subdued demand from consuming industries.
Traders attributed the rise in wheat prices to restricted arrivals from producing belts against increased offtake by flour mills.
In the national capital, wheat deshi and dara variety were up by Rs 35 each to Rs 2,335-2,685 and Rs 1,565-1,570 per quintal respectively. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and gained Rs 30 to Rs 1,580-1,585 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills, maida and sooji also finished higher at Rs 845-850, Rs 900-915 and Rs 1,000-1,020 from previous levels of Rs 820-830, Rs 840-850 and Rs 940-950 per 50 kg respectively largley in line with wheat trend.

On the other hand, bajra, however, declined by Rs 10 to Rs 1,200-1,205 per quintal.
