Wheat prices were down by Rs 40 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today following adequate stocks on increased arrivals from producing belts coupled with reduced offtake by flour mills.
However, other grains continued to move in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said besides adequate stocks following increased supplies from producing belts, reduced offtake by flour mills also kept pressure on wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills)fell by Rs 40 to 1,545-1,550 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and declined by Rs 25 to Rs 1,565-1,570 per 90 kg.
