Wheat prices rose in an otherwise steady wholesale grains market today following scattered demand from flour mills.
However, rice basmati eased on adequate stocks position.
Marketmen said scattered demand from flour mills helped wheat prices to trade marginally higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) advanced to Rs 1,650-1,700 from previous level of Rs 1,640-1700 per quintal. Atta flour mills and maida rose Rs 15 and Rs 5 to Rs 900-905 and Rs 950-955 per 50 kg, respectively.
In the rice section, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety, however, eased to Rs 4,900-5,100 and Rs 3,800-4,800 against last close of Rs 5,000-5,200 and Rs 3,800-5,000 per quintal, respectively.
