Wheat strengthens on rising demand

Wheat prices were higher by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today following rising demand from flour mills.
However, other grains held steady in thin trade.
Traders said besides increased offtake by flour mills, fall in supplies from producing regions mainly kept wheat prices higher.
Elsewhere, movements in other grains remained restricted on little doing.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) advanced by Rs 30 to Rs 1,920-1,930 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,930-1,960 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills, maida and sooji also edged up by Rs 10 each to Rs 1,060-1,070, Rs 1,140-1,150 and Rs 1,250-1,260 per 50 kg, respectively in step with a wheat trend.
