The White House said it "strongly condemns the atrocious attack" today on Kabul's diplomatic quarter where a truck bomb killed at least 80 people.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed and injured. That this attack would occur during the holy month of Ramadan underscores the senseless and barbaric nature of this attack," a White House spokesman said.
"Our embassy is working with our Afghan and coalition partners to provide assistance to the personnel and affected embassies and we will work closely with the national unity government to help them bring the perpetrators of this attack to justice," the official said.
