Will continue efforts for Jat reservation: Hooda

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said he will continue efforts to get reservation for Jat community in the Central Government jobs.
Speaking at the Akhil Bharatiya Jat Maha Sammelan here, Hooda said he along with former Lok Sabha Speaker Balram Jakhar had met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi a number of times on the reservation issue and such efforts will continue.
Hooda said that besides Jat community, the Haryana Government has also given reservation to Jat-Sikh, Ror, Bishnoi, Tyagi and other economically weaker sections of the society.
Stressing on the unity of Jat community, Hooda said Jat organisations should not be politicised.
He also underlined the need for providing quality education to the children of the community.
Presiding over the Maha Sammelan, Jakhar said Jat community has been given reservation in Haryana and efforts are on for a similar reservation in the Centre.
He congratulated The newly-elected President of Akhil Bharatiya Jat Sabha, Ajay Singh.
The Sammelan was also addressed by former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh, former Governor Chandrawati, Haryana Minister Kiran Choudhry and former Punjab Minister Manpreet Singh Badal.
