The Telangana government has been demanding to reduce tax slab on beedi, granite, movie tickets and drinking water schemes.
Naqvi, who is the Minister of State for Minority Affairs, said "I will talk to the finance minister and officials concerned on the issue of putting some items such as granite, beedi and drinking water schemes in lower slab as requested (by the Telangana principal secretary of revenue Somesh Kumar).
Kumar had earlier in the programme requested the union minister to use his good offices to reduce the GST tax slab on certain items and schemes.
He said under the GST tax on many more essential goods was abolished resulting in lower prices.
Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said about 1.6 lakh new jobs will be created in the next three months as a result of GST implementation.
