According to senior SP leader Shivpal Yadav, emphasis will be given on strengthening block-level organisation by assigning more prominence to party workers.
Describing the workers as "backbone" of the party, Yadav said ministers have been asked not to neglect them.
Keen on repeating its performance of 2012, the party will direct its district presidents to hold meeting on regular basis and send their reports to the party headquarters so that SP gets to know the "ground reality", he told PTI.
"Party workers get to know what is going on in their area and thus we can reach out to people easily," he said.
"There used to be state executive meets once in two months earlier. This could not continue in the past and we are going to revive it. The meet was a platform on which leaders from all over the state put in their views and on the last day, Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) used to address them," he added.
"We will reach out to people at village level and highlight the schemes initiated by us. Our party workers will do the job," he told PTI.
The leader also made it clear that "sycophants" and "contractors" should not be given a place in the party.
On being asked about the threat posed by BJP in the 2017 Assembly polls, Shivpal said, "Only SP could counter BJP in the state. We have a strong organisation, our government is doing good job for the welfare of common man and and it will reflect in the election results".
