A woman was allegedly abducted by a man in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, but was rescued within hours, police said Wednesday.

The woman was rescued after one Mohmmad Qadir filed a police complaint at the Mendhar police station that his wife was abducted by Shah Nawaz Ahmad of Rajouri from her home Tuesday evening, they said.

Raids were conducted at various places and the woman was rescued from a house in Thuddi Khandli in Rajouri within eight hours of her abduction, police said.
