The victim, one Manpreet Kaur complained that village Sarpanch Sarabjit Kaur, her son Bikramjit Singh and five others came to her house last week and locked her up in a room after beating her over some personal matter, they said.
After an investigation, a case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC against the accused, they said.
No arrests have been made yet in this connection, they added.
