Both of them rushed the victim to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital but soon fled as his condition deteriorated.
The hit and run case however was solved within hours of the occurrence with the help of CCTV Cameras installed in the market by the shopkeepers on the insistence of local police.
The accused woman, identified as Manisha Grover was arrested from her home in Subhash Nagar. She however was later released on bail as it was a bailable offence.
"The incident took place yesterday around 6:45 PM. We got information from DDU Hospital that an unidentified person who was injured in an accident has been brought to the hospital by some unknown persons. When a police team reached the spot, the victim was identified as Parmod Kumar, a resident of Hari Nagar Delhi. No eyewitness of the incident could be found on the spot," Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Pushpendra Kumar.
"Initially, all the CCTV footages of the DDU Hospital were analyzed and it revealed that the victim was brought there by a woman and a man in a Silver Colour Wagon R Car," said Kumar.
Enquiry was made from the relatives of the deceased, who informed that he was working in Tagore Garden and used to go to his office daily via Milap Market, 2 Block, Arya Samaj Chowk, Green MIG.
Immediately, photographs of the accused, alleged vehicle were developed and shown in the area and after sustained efforts the vehicle was traced and the accused Manisha Grover was arrested.
On interrogation, accused informed that she was learning driving from her husband and lost control and thus the accident occurred. She, with the help of her husband, shifted the victim to the hospital. However, seeing the condition of the victim they got scared and fled off. Further investigation in the case is in progress, police said.
