Woman alleges rape by neighbour, refuses to undergo medical test

A 32-year old woman alleged that she was raped by her neighbour while she was sleeping on the terrace of her residence in Farukhnagar, police said today.

The woman, however, refused to undergo medical examination, Gurgaon Police PRO Ravinder Kumar, said adding an investigation is underway.

The alleged incident occurred on May 28 when the woman along with her husband and minor son was sleeping on the terrace after a power cut in Tarpadi village, the officer said.

"As per the complaint of the woman, after the electricity was restores, her husband went downstairs to sleep. Finding her alone, her neighbour came to the terrace. He gagged her and then raped her," Kumar said.

"The woman informed her husband about the incident following which a complaint was registered at Farukhnagar police station," he said.

"There is some previous personal animosity between the two families An investigation is underway," the officer added.
