Woman constable commits self-immolation

A 35-year old woman Armed Reserve Police constable today allegedly committed self-immolation near her house in Perur here.
Kala, whose husband died about five years ago, was staying with her parents and was on two months leave for treatment of some health problem, police said.
She came out of the house in the morning and suddenly doused herself with kerosene and set herself afire. She died on the spot though neighbours tried to rescue her by pouring water, police said.
