Woman crushed to death by bus

A 50-year-old woman was crushed to death by a Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus in Sahibabad area here this afternoon, police said.
Poonam, a resident of Vijay Nagar area, was killed and her son Sunny injured when their motorcyle was hit by the bus near Artla U-turn, they said.
Sunny suffered injuries in the leg and head and had been admitted to a hospital.
The incident occurred when Poonam and Sunny were on way back to their residence, police said.
After the incident, bus driver fled from the spot.
"We have launched a manhunt to nab the driver," said a senior police officer.

Annoyed local residents blocked the traffic on GT road and demanded the arrest of the accused driver. The protest was called off on the assurance of senior police officers to take required steps in the regard.
