Woman dies after being thrown off third floor terrace in Ghaziabad

A 35-year-old woman died of injuries after she was thrown off the third floor terrace of an apartment here by an acquaintance following a heated argument, police said Monday.

The incident took place in the Lok Priya Vihar colony area on Sunday afternoon and the victim succumbed to injuries at a private hospital here at night, City Superintendent Police (SP) Shlok Kumar said.

An FIR was registered against the accused, Shahid, based on a complaint filed by the husband of the deceased, he said.

During investigation, it was learnt that the accused had come to meet the victim, Imrana, around 2 pm Sunday when her husband was away at work and the duo went to the terrace where they had an heated argument, following which he threw the victim off the terrace and fled from the spot, officials said.

Imrana was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries where she died, they said.

The victim and her husband, Murtza, a native of Muzaffarpur in Bihar, had rented the flat just 20 days ago and was living with the couple's three children.

Murtza said in his complaint that Imrana and Shahid used meet each other, which he disliked and hence, decided to leave Delhi and move to Khoda here, police said.

The body of Imrana was sent for autopsy and a search operation was launched to nab Shahid, they added.
