The victim, originally from Sivasagar, was staying at the Nagaon State Home, but left it on January 30 due to "atrocities of the Home authority", sources said.
The woman, who was not at her best mental conditions, was forcefully taken by a group of 5-7 youth to a secluded spot near the BP Civil Hospital and raped whole night.
Police said she was kept in confinement at an unknown place for the next day as well and was again raped.
She was admitted in the BP Civil Hospital where doctors have stated her condition to be critical.
Investigation is on, police said, adding but no arrest has been made so far.
