Woman, grandson dies of lightning

A 61-year-old woman and her grandson died when lightning struck them at Dangatola in Brinda village under Patamda police station, police said.
The victims identified as Annapurna Mahato (61) and her 13-year-old grandson Bablu Mahato along with others were in their courtyard when rain accompanied with thunder struck this evening, said officer-in-charge of Patamada police station, Srishtidhar Mahato.
The duo suffered critical injuries as the thunderbolt struk them and were immediately rushed to M G M Hospital here, he said adding that both the injured succumbed to injuries as they reached the hospital.
