Woman injured after shot at by husband

A 22-year-old woman was seriously injured after being allegedly shot at by her husband as she protested against his drinking habits, here, police said today.
The victim, Sundari yesterday tried to resist the accused from drinking following which he assaulted her and fired at with a pistol, police said.
Hearing the gunshot, villagers informed police and the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, she was referred to Agra Medical College where her condition was stated to be critical, Station Officer of Jasrathpur RK Singh said.

Police said they will look into reports about the
Manipuri woman facing non-cooperation at the police station while filing the complaint.
"If our police officers have erred, it will also be probed," Mumbai police spokesperson Dhananjay Kulkarni said.
He was responding to a query on reports that police allegedly told her that there was no case of molestation as her clothes were not torn.
