Victim Sant Ram, in his complaint with the police, said five unidentified persons forcefully entered their house at Baghapurana here yesterday and demanded money from them.
When they resisted, the miscreants carrying sharp-edged weapons allegedly attacked them leaving Sant Ram's wife Jaswinder Kaur dead, police said.
He said the assailants looted Rs 5000 from him.
A case has been registered against unidentified persons, police said adding efforts are on to trace them.
