The woman killed her 2-year-old son at Gazna Durlavpara early today as her second husband was reluctant to accept the baby fathered by her first husband who died in an accident six months ago.
Police said the woman was detained and her husband has fled.
The body of the baby was sent for postmortem.
In the other case, a 65-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 40-year-old son to death following an altercation over grazing a goat at Vaina in Hanskhali.
The father was taken into custody.
