Woman molested by acquaintance

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly molested several times by an acquaintance on the pretext of providing medical assistance for her ailing mother, following which the accused was arrested, police said today.
Jayesh Krishnaji Sendre (30), a resident of Katemanivali village in Kalyan town, forced the woman into living with him with the promise of helping in treatment of her mother, Police Inspector K N Ghete of Kolshewadi police station said.
However, when the woman's husband filed a missing report, she went back to him, Ghete said.
The accused later started demanding sexual favours from the woman, after which she filed a complaint with the police, he said.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC and the accused arrested, he said, adding further investigation is on.
